A graduate of Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Music Production and Engineering, Kathy Kiragu is a talented Film Composer and Sound Designer. She excels at providing artistic direction through the integration of high-quality music and sound effects. With over a decade of experience, she possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong transcription abilities. Kathy is self-motivated and committed to a lifelong journey in music, with a proven track record of using music to narrate compelling stories. She combines analytical, quantitative, and qualitative skills to develop engaging curricula. As a Pan-Africanist, Kathy is dedicated to ensuring that Africa's rich cultural heritage is captured, preserved, and protected through musical notation and film scores. She is passionate about creating opportunities for its marketing and broader recognition. As a social justice activist, Kathy is committed to building a just world and preserving indigenous knowledge, particularly through the transcription of undocumented music. Her passion lies in ensuring that locally produced films feature music that meets international standards and can compete globally. Through organizing musical performances such as orchestras, she works meticulously on notation, using tools like Sibelius to write precise scores for each orchestra member.
